UIL and TAPPS Winners Announced for Journalism here

UIL’s Interscholastic League Press Conference, Balfour Publishing, and TAPPS announced our journalism winners last week. Please take a look at these incredible articles and videos written, filmed and edited by our newspaper and yearbook staff.

We have three 1st place winners, two 2nd place winners, three 3rd place winners, and one Honorable Mention in ILPC, and one 3rd place winner, and one 4th place winner in TAPPS.

A link for the UIL/ILPC winners is below if you want to see them for yourself, or just check out our list at the bottom of this article so you don’t have to scroll in UIL’s very large list.

At UIL/ILPC, we compete in 3A according to our school enrollment size, but in TAPPS, we compete as 4A. Earlier this year, our yearbook staff won 3rd place at NAUMS (National Association of University Model Schools) for our 2018-19 Yearbook “Celebrating”. That same book won the coveted “Yearbook Yearbook” Honorable Mention by Balfour Publishing, and appears in their Yearbook.

2019 Yearbook Staff Seniors Sophia Erenzo, Crew Roberts, Naamah McGee, Chloe Hughes, and Chandler Tolliver (not pictured) won 3rd at NAUMS for overall Yearbook theme, quality, coverage, and photography. Nammah McGee, holding the book, took the photo that became our front cover and inspiration for the theme.
