Seek: Senior forms off-campus Bible study group

For her last year in high school, Senior Morgan Reynolds wants to make an impact on her school, especially the students. Reynolds wants to be able to look back at her high school days and be proud of what she has done in these 4 short years.
“Going into the school year, I knew that it was my last year at Grace Prep and I knew that I really wanted to do something that was going to leave an impact that was a lot bigger than just me, my personality, and my friendships,” said Reynolds.
Morgan has always had the idea of starting a Bible study or something along those lines for the students at Grace Prep. In fact, she started leading a life group Bible study at her church this past summer.
Her idea of beginning a Bible study she named “Seek” was brought to life once she came back from lion camp, the school-wide retreat, in September.
Reynolds loved to see high school students come together as a school and praise Jesus at the retreat. However, she wanted to bring that unity back to school too.
“After lion camp I just felt that there really needed to be some sort of follow-up that was a lot more effective so kids didn’t just have one big experience with God that was really awesome but not necessarily constantly apart of their lives,” recalls Morgan.
When Seek first became a reality every Saturday, Morgan and the leaders were very proud of the results. At the beginning they didn’t know how many people to expect, and Morgan hosted the event in her home.
“I really like that we have small groups at Seek because it is a safe space for students that are able to talk about what is happening in their life,” said Senior Faith Schmoker.
On a normal Saturday, there can be from 5 to 15 students attending Seek.

Schmoker, along with Junior Mackenzie Ford, and Freshman Paxton Reynolds have been by Morgan’s side for the whole journey helping to plan and host Seek.
“We have about 5 core freshman girls that are at every single seek we have ever had,” said Reynolds.
It warms Morgan’s heart when she sees students coming together to worship the Lord.
