Girls varsity basketball team has high hopes
The lady lion’s varsity basketball season is in full swing. Since starting practice back in August, the lady lions have had time to bond as a team and become better players all-around.
“We have come a full 360 from where we were four months ago,” said Senior Hannah Turner.
The Senior Players have big goals for their last season here at Grace Prep. Among which Hannah says includes, “Making all-district team”.
Senior Jada Anthony-Johnson goes big with her goals as she says, “STATE!” is her goal, “by working hard and practicing.”
Personally, Turner hopes to “benefit the team in the best way that I can.”
This is Hannah’s last year of basketball and she plans to leave the team as at least a District Champion!
“I want to make it to the final four,” says Senior, Abigail (Abby) Ezmerlian.
Looking at this as their last high school season, Ezmerlian has mixed emotions.
“I’m sad because I honestly love this team and it has been the best team for me…but I know that it’s not the end,” said Ezmerlian.
This year, the team is made
up of a majority of new students as well as a new coach.
“I think she is going to help us learn it, to not just play basketball, but actually understand it and know what we are doing on the court,” said Sophomore Kati Rod.
